On the 21st of April, 2018, the units of West Orange High and Ocoee High teamed up to participate in the Bataan Death March. This march is held to honor the thousands of American and Filipino troops that had to make a 65-mile march to prisoner camps after the U.S. surrendered the Bataan Peninsula to the Japanese. The cadets met at Ocoee High to start the march, being given the option to walk or run. They started off on the trail and, even though the original march was 65 miles, the cadets only did 14 miles. There was a huge turnout of cadets that were up for the challenge, and they completed it for a good reason. The two units hope to do this again next year and all of the years to come.
