Merit/Demerit System
Merit/Demerit Policy: Merits and demerits are used as ways to keep the cadets within the unit professional. Exceptional cadets will be awarded with merits and points towards promotion while cadets that break the honor code will earn demerits that will harm their promotion and achieving awards/ribbons.
Merits and demerits are now more specifically defined:
Merits: Each merit will give a cadet 5 extra points towards promotion and will increase their chances on being selected for field trips or other similar activities.
Demerits: Demerits will prevent cadets from promotion and will receive -5 points towards promotion and ribbon eligibility and reduces likelihood of being chosen for a field trip or other similar event. Additionally, ribbons earned while a cadet has demerits will not be awarded until the cadet works off his/her demerits.
