On 10 January, our cadets competed in the Mainland Drill Competition. Congratulations to our JV A team for placing 2nd in inspection, our Color Guard for placing 3rd in inspection and DAFPAM Air Force routine, and to first-year C/A1C Suzy Smith for Best Freshman Commander! We are so proud of the hard work and determination our cadets demonstrated yesterday.
On 3 December, our cadets took a trip to I/ITSEC (interservice/industry training, simulation, and education conference) and got to check out some of the upcoming technology.
Our cadets volunteered at the Challenge 22 on November 15th. They walked 2.2 miles to raise awareness for veteran suicide. Thank you to everyone who came out, we had a fantastic time!
We officially transitioned leadership during our change of command ceremony on the 12th of November. A huge congratulations to C/Colonel Erick Valdes, who is stepping up as our new group commander, and to C/Lt Colonel Braden Thomas, who will serve as the deputy group commander. The entire unit is looking forward to the fresh perspectives and positive changes they're sure to bring! Thank you to the veterans for inviting our Color Guard to the Marriott Vacation Worldwide Veterans Day Lunch, and thank you to Lieutenant General Mark Hertling for this picture with our cadets!
On November 8th, our cadets and the explorers volunteered at the Donut Dash, assisting runners by guiding them and providing water and donuts. We appreciate everyone who participated, it was a fantastic event!
On 4 October, our Raiders team competed in our first raiders competition of the 2025-2026 school year. The team competed at forest high school. We competed in male gauntlet, female gauntlet, rescue team, male ultimate raider, female ultimate raider, pushups, and knee tucks With the strong efforts of our raiders we were able to secure 3rd place in knee tucks . Great job to all of our cadets your hardworking efforts and determination is what makes our team great!On 13 September our Kitty Hawk national honor society hosted our annual unit picnic. This day was filled with food, fun, and laughter as everyone came together to socialize and have fun. The cadets participated in games such as volleyball, badminton, and our annual full unit soccer game! It was an enjoyable time for all as everyone got to share and create new memories.
On September 11 2025 our cadets contributed in the remembrance of all the lives lost and heroes who showed courage and strength during this day by putting flags near the flagpole on campus. Its moments like this that truly remind us to never forget the courage, unity, and strength that came out of such a hard time. Thank you cadets for keeping that memory alive for all of us. From 28 July 2025 to 2 August 2025 our unit hosted our basic cadet training for all the rising freshman. This brings rising freshman who have joined our unit together to get hands on learning before school starts. They learn the basics of drill, PT, and many more activities our unit provides. Special thanks to our amazing cadre who helped teach these young students and prepare them for an outstanding year! |
