Lieutenant Colonel Micheal Carrizales

Lieutenant Colonel Micheal Carrizales was the Operations Officer of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 003, University of Houston, Houston, Texas. He was responsible for recruiting, educating, training, and inspiring men and women to become the highest quality leaders in the United States Air Force.
Lieutenant Colonel Carrizales was commissioned in 2001 through the Air Force Officer Training School.  He graduated from Wesley College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Literature. He earned a Master of Arts degree in Spiritual Formation from Northwest Nazarene University in 2008.

Lieutenant Colonel Carrizales is a master air battle manager with more than 3100 flying hours in multiple E-3 Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) variants, including over 900 combat hours. Most recently, Lieutenant Colonel Carrizales served as an E-3 Mission Crew Commander and Instructor Senior Director, Director of Staff at the 961st Airborne Air Control Squadron, and Deputy Chief of Advanced Programs at the 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. As an E-3 Mission Crew Commander, he was responsible for the overall execution of the E-3 tactical mission as tasked by authorities of the Pacific theater of operations.

Lieutenant Colonel Carrizales has deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE; as well as in support of counter-drug operations in South America.

Senior Master Sergeant Shonda Spencer

Senior Master Sergeant Shonda L. Spencer serves as the Aerospace Science Instructor at West Orange High School.  She was born in Valdosta, Georgia, raised in Clearwater, Florida, and joined the Air Force as a Security Forces Specialist in January 1995.  In 2002, she retrained into operations intelligence career field. Her background includes numerous operational and leadership roles at squadron, operating location, joint, and NAF levels as a force protection liaison, operations intelligence analyst, training manager, full motion video analyst, non-commissioned officer in charge,  flight chief, joint operations superintendent and operations superintendent.  She has been stationed at locations in Texas, Virginia, Japan, Oklahoma, Florida, South Korea, Hawaii, North Carolina, and Maryland.  SMSgt Spencer retired in 2015 and served as an Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) at Lovejoy High School in Hampton Ga for three years. She has been an ASI at West Orange High School since August 2018.
