Cadets were able to march in the Downtown Orlando Martin Luther King parade on early (date) morning. Not only did they earn their activities ribbons but they also had a chance to make new friends and meet new people, but most importantly they made many more memories. Most of the cadets that attended this parade stated that “This was a super fun way to make new friends and it was a great opportunity to see all the different teams and groups that march in the parades” they also stated that they would most likely march in the upcoming parades!
On January 12 cadets were given the opportunity to learn how to guide themselves to checkpoints with the aid of a compass and map, this activity is called orienteering. There were challenges that were met by certain groups. One of these challenges where cacti and dangerous plants and animals. Unfortunately the cadets that attended were not able to finish but they all had a lot of fun making new friends and memories. And because of the hard work that these cadets put into the early saturday morning, they earned their orienteering ribbon.
